For DDB Chicago and Skittles, Pet Gorilla was brought on board to help with their very first social campaign. A cast of unique characters with extreme obsessions for each flavor were created, and designed to speak eloquently on how much they loved their flavor. The execution involved launching the characters on the Skittles social channels, but asking fans to communicate with them in analog ways. Rodger would answer phone calls to talk about his love for Strawberry, Bryce would write letters, Donald doodled on faxes sent to him, Lisa communicated telepathically, and Eunice played fans on Xbox live while streaming on Twitch.tv. Over two weeks each character was available for communication, causing natural sharing amongst fans of the campaign and playfully Connecting The Rainbow in an entirely new way.
