Cosm Reveals ‘Harry Potter’ Release Date And Trailer For “Shared Reality” Run

  • MakeMake

A reconceived version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will be released at Cosm‘s Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas “shared reality” venues on May 7.

The company and its partners tell Deadline that tickets are due to go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT. The trailer (watch it above) shows how the original 2001 installment in the Potter franchise has been adapted for Cosm’s unique screens.

All sites in Cosm’s growing portfolio, which will soon expand to Cleveland, Detroit and other markets, feature one main screen, a curved surface 87 feet in diameter that can show images in greater than 12K resolution. Separate spaces have smaller, high-tech screens optimized for live sports, the initial anchor attraction at Cosm. The company sealing deals with the NFL, Major League Baseball, the UFC, Premier League soccer and many more. Viewers of broadcast network coverage are familiar with the cut-ins they do to show fan reaction at Cosm, where dynamic pricing can push the price of a single ticket into the hundreds of dollars. (Movie tickets generally cost a lot less, but the upside of the dynamic model is attractive to Warner and its partners.)
